"Intake manifold bolt pattern with center bolts canted @ 72 angle"

Im working on my neighbor's truck and im trying to find an aftermarket intake, but Im having a little trouble. It's a 1988 Chevy 1500. It has the L05 motor, and evidently it has the center bolts on a 72* angle. If I had the right idea on what to search for that would be great. Thanks for the help!

Most post-87 non-Vortec manifolds (which you are trying to find) were for TBI, and you want to use a carburetor. One option is to use bolt adapters that allow you to put a 55-86 manifold on a newer engine. However, I have no experience with how well they work.

I looked through the Summit racing online catalog and they have at least two sets of manifold bolt adapters that might work. I would also suggest calling them to find out if they have a manifold that will directly bolt on without an adapter.

Or, you can ream out the holes on an older intake needed to allow the bolts to clear.

Some of the Professional Products intakes have a universal design and fit both.

i have used this intake before, on a 91 chevy 350 out of a caprice.

i bought a conversion intake for this car (37 chevy)

the intake is the same as a pre 85 small block. with aluminum "lugs" that let you use the angled bolts.

worked fine no problems. this is very common in the hotrodding world. good luck

Ayuh,... That's the ticket, Right there,...

That manifold fits the in-between intake bolt pattern,....

Before '87, was the original SBC intake bolt pattern, 'n after '95 is the Vortec intake bolt pattern....

That intake will work. There are others, just be sure they specify that the intake fits the '87-up non-Vortec iron heads. The Corvette aluminum heads of that era used the older style intake, that's why cast iron is specified.

A recent thread w/similar info: 350 k code engine

Good luck.
