intake manifold going back on

ok what is the order the bolts need to be tightened? i have a book and it gives me the order for the big block but i cant seem to find it for the small block. also can the intake manifold go on before the valves are set? because i dont know how to set the valves so im waiting for my neighbor to come help me with that but i wanna get the rest together and ready. thanks for all your help

Start tightening the intake manifold bolts from the center, then proceed towards the ends. Alternate from one side to the other. The torque is 25 ft.lb., but you probably will not be able to use a torque wrench on all the bolts due to interference with the intake. Apply some non-hardening sealer to the threads of the bolts. Use a liberal amount of RTV on the ends rather than the rubber or cork gaskets. After it has set up (skimmed over) for about ten minutes you can install the intake. Apply a light coat of sealer to the intake manifold gaskets around the water ports.

The valves can be adjusted after the intake is installed.
