intake manifold leak

i have coolent leaking from a bolt should i use plummers tape or high temp silicone?

Intake bolts that go through water passages should get some liquid teflon type sealant/ thread sealer. If no sealant was used prior to the leak, it might not seal. Has the engine heat cycled, and then not rechecked the bolts.

I've had oil leak through my center intake bolts; never had coolant come through any of them, but for either case either teflon sealer or permatex #3 tacky thread sealant will work fine (the #3 will only dissolve in alcohol, not glycol). But in my case, I just use plain old teflon tape. That works fine too; just be sure to replace it if you pull the bolt out for some reason.
