intake question

Hopefully an easy intake question. 350 chevy good size cam, 4.060 bore, 180cc heads. Was recommended that I use 6500rpm intake (i.e. Edelbrock Peformer RPM) BUT, have a buddy with a 5500rpm intake (Edelbrock EPS) that I can get dirt cheap brand new. Will the 1000 rpm make any difference on a truck that is mostly driven around town.

IMO, I'd get it and use it as a trade or sell, if the deal is real sweet.

Then I'd go w/the RPM.

But this depends on the cam and engine combo and what you're using it for, etc.

Got any details?

That EPS should be fine w/that combo. I'd go for it.

Thanks I assumed it wouldn't make much difference with what I am using it for, just needed the added assurance. Just wondering, where would the RPM range make a difference? Is it just more air flow, more horsepower?

Well. the RPM intake has a larger port volume and shape (compared to yours), to supply an engine to about 6500 rpm.

The Performer or your intake is sized smaller in that regard, so works better at less rpm, but would create a restriction above about 5500 rpm.
