Don't assume it's the intake causing the problem. The heads intake mating flange could be out of wack also.
This time I will be there working with the builder...yea not too happy about giving up the dual plain. I guess the goal is to take some measurments (one being the compressed gasket) and he has special measurement tool to measure surface angles etc this time really want to nail down the problem. While I got things apart going to take a look at the rocker studs if they go into the intake ports going to remove and reseal. I guess "if" this not ideal manifold fixed the problem than I can always replace it later on...just want to nail down the problem.
