Intake - Weiand vs Edelbrock?

All - finishing out my mild build.

Chevy SB 350 with a Comp Magnum 270H cam. Replaced valvetrain with proper springs and Comp Rollertip Rockers.

Other than that, the engine is virtually a stock 350 crate engine from circa 1979.

I have an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and 600cfm carb... but its not polished. Wondering if I should pick up a polished Weiand since they are currently having good sales on them?

If so, what do you all recommend?

I have a similiar set up to yours with an XR270HR Comp bumpstick. I am running with an Edelbrock Performer and 600cfm Edelbrock. Times are tough....why spend the money when you've got some good parts already.

Good point. Was just looking for something shiny since I hope to show the truck when finished. I tried polishing a little section of the EB, but I suck at it.

How does your setup run? I'm really wondering how mine will be as I didn't swap head's out... and I suspect they are smoggers.

Mine pulls real good but it has AFR 195cc heads with 64cc chambers. Running 10.25:1 compression. Had it on the dyno this past summer and it pulled 340 RWHP and 385 RWTQ. That cam has a nice lopey idle. When I let it run in the garage it shakes stuff off the shelves in the closet and rattles the china cabinet............nice!!!!

I am just new to HotRodding but like you, I did some research and talked to lots of people. I had a set of RHS heads that I replaced and the AFR's made a significant difference. In my opinion AFR are worth the money although there are alot of nice heads out there. Do your research and pick what you feel will work best with your setup. Everyone has an opinion but remember its your ride.

Good luck with your project!!!
