interchangeable transmission
I have a 1993 Ford Mustang with a 2.3 engine with automatic overdrive. I have a 1987 Ford Ranger with a 2.9 engine with automatic overdrive. Will the 1987 transmission fit the 1993 transmission?

the mustang has an A4ld trans and the explorer most likely has the same, but if the explorer is 4x4 it won't bolt up, take a peek under and see if the explorer(if 2x4) has the same trans as the mustang, the A4ld is different because the bellhousing unbolts, if it does then your in luck,
they are not electronic so yes the will bolt in then
