interior door handles 64 galaxie wagon

Hey, does anyone know how to remove the door handles. I know there is a trick and probably a tool but cant push the panel back from the handle enough to see what is required. All the panels are pristine and I don't want to damage them..Any info appreciated..Thanks, Ray

the handle has to go on after the door panel so it has to come off before the panel. some handles have a pin that goes thru the shaft, some are just a u-shaped pin or almost like a body shim that slides in the back of the handle. sometimes there's a cap that comes off the front of the handle and then there's a screw behind that.

good luck.

If you gently pull the handle from the panel (push back)(also nylon protective washer), you will see this wire U-CLIP. It can be removed with a hooked pick but there is a special service tool available (KD TOOLS) that you slide behind the handle to release the wire hook.

Try this

I bought this set, and it works pretty good on a number of different cars.
