re: interior framing

I've started replacing the wood in my 29 Ford using 1 1/4 x 1 1/4 x .062 wall sq. tubing as the main supports and 1" sq. tube and 14 ga. sheet as req'd. As far as material costs the metal is considerably cheeper but knowing how to work metal is a necessity. Cut the pieces long and bend them in a press or weld something to the cutting table that you can slip the tube in and lean on it to bend it. Also rotors or bar bell weights welded to the bench then use a torch to heat and bend to a radius. Using metal will be very time consuming. Good luck
