interior handle retaining spring clip 49 chev

Being a 4 door car this thing has lots of handles and spring clips. The ones on the car are not long enough, and the ears are not turned out far enough.
Bought some doorman clips, none of which works.
Any one got a lead on bigger clips?
Thanks Pat

NAPA part number BK 6653319 gets you 75 clips. They also have smaller packages. As far as the clips fitting, sometimes you have to adjust them by hand, squeezing or opening, to work correctly.

Not trying to be a smart ***** here, but a friend of mine had the same problem, until I showed him that he was putting the clip on the wrong side of the handle. I am not positive about your ford handle, but many cars the clip only really fits from one side.If the handle is round where it fits over the regulator, the clip can either direction. If the handle has a "c" shape appearance over the regulator, the clip goes with the open end toward the open end of the "c". If any of that makes sense. Jeremy

removal ?

If you put them on the wrong direction on some cars, they can be very hard to remove. Trying to hook from the handle end It took me 10 minutes last week end to get one off.

This is a 49 Chevy he's talking about. A 49 Ford would have pins holding the handles on. These clips go on from the side away from the part you turn to open the window or door. It would be really hard to put the clip on the wrong side, and almost impossible to remove if you could do it.
