Interior Help Needed

Looking for some help installing a covering on the under side of my deck lid on my 1956 chevy. What is the best material to use for the backing for the material to be glued to? Looking for someone that has some pictures of there project and how is was done, step by step.....PLEASE HELP

I found this on the net that might help. http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=1436376, and http://www.fatmat.com/. You may be able to use a mat sized for another car, such as one in this site (Scroll down to the H's) http://www.drclassic.com/catalog/Camaro/Underhood. The one I put in my Olds, many years ago, is held in with push in type plastic retainers that go into holes drilled in the inner hood supports. I can't remember where I got it from. My underhood is painted to match the car exterior and I didn't want to put a glue product on it, so I don't know if the glue would hold up. Later!
