intermittent stumble, '91 454 TBI

Hi all,
my everyday is a '91 Suburban with a TBI 454. Within the last 2 months it has had about 6-10 instances where the engine rpm will either "hunt" (off idle only), or when trying to hold it at a steady cruising speed rpm it will stumble until you bring the rpms above that point. I'm not getting any trouble codes, and have no other engine-related problems. I am suspecting either the throttle position sensor or the idle air controller, but would prefer not to just start randomly buying parts in the hopes it gets resolved.

Any helpful suggestions are much appreciated ~

check and see if the EGR valve is caked with carbon. remove it and clean it and see if that works...

check for vacuum leaks at the base of the throttle body too.......very common on those.............just spray some carb cleaner around the base and see if the idle changes................gaskets are easy to change and fairly cheap.............
