I'm Keith Hartley, 52 years young. I'm a bleed blue Ford man. I've been a hotrodder since I was a toddler. I was raised partly at Fremont Drag Strip. That's where Dad (Bob Hartley) and I raced most of the time, until they closed the gates permanently
. Then we spent most of our time racing at Sears Point. Mostly ET Bracket racing.
I learned a lot of what I know about cars and building cars from my Dad. He was the local car answer man. He used to build engines, manual transmissions, 8" and 9" Ford rearends, and Holley carbs out of his garage in San Jose, CA. Him and I used to drag race, build cars, and just hang out daydreamin'. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago after we moved to Arizona
I've been out of touch for awhile. I'm ready to get back into the groove. My current project is the resurrection of my Dad's '65 Ranchero. Unfortunately it's been sadly neglected since Dad passed. I intend to change that
. The "Truck", as we called it, is powered by a 351 Cleveland and C4 trans. It has a 9" rearend with 3:50 gears and a Traction Lock. Tandem shocks on the rear and sub-chassis ties.
I found the Hotrodders Bulletin Board by chance. I'm so glad I did. I know I will get some great help and advice from everyone. I hope I can also provide some help and advice.
Thank you for letting participate in your group! Keith Hartley
