Intro/TH350 question

Hello all. I have been into cars for about 6 years now, starting with 4 cyl turbo cars and now into the Chevy v8. I've just gotten my self a 57 Belair 4dr Hardtop and have been rebuilding the mechanicals since. Have a 355 in it now and it did have a powerglide which just recently lost its 2nd gear. I have aquired a TH350 and have a question on it.
The place on the tranny where the shifter linkage goes onto doesn't click into what would be each gear as you spin it. On the powerglide it has a definate click. I've never had a TH350 out of a car before so I don't know if this is normal or not. It doesn't seem right to me.

Any info would be great!

Thanks

Remove the 350TH tranny pan (12 or 13 bolts - easy) and check it out. You will see right away why it doesn't click. You wouldn't want to install a transmission without knowing its condition inside.

There is a "cog" piece on the inside that has probably fallen off, it should click like the powerglide.

When you have questions about the engine/trans mounts, give us a call.

Great thanks for the help! I haven't taken anything apart yet as I just got it but I'll defenatly do that.
I'll defenatly need some info on mounting too. I know there is a turbo tranny mounting kit but I don't know if that requires the stock bell housing mounts on the frame or not. I do not have those anymore.
