Howdy,

It was a nice warm Saturday morning last summer and I was sitting on my porch reading the morning paper when I saw an ad for a local car show.I thought it would be a good way to get some exercise, so I invited my wife to go with the promise of lunch at her favorite restaurant. That was the beginning.

We had not been around street rods since high school [early 60's]. We had both grown up in Wichita, Ks and had ogled at Starbird cars every year at the old Forum car show and waited for the annual unveiling of the new cars at Quality Chevrolet [ Now the home of Big Dog motorcycles].

To speed this introduction up some, I got the old car bug. I started shopping on line for a car that I hoped would be ready for paint and interior. I had built a few up to that stage a long time ago and always found reasons to sell them so I wanted one that had all the stoop labor done.

We had always liked the '39 and 40' styling and I eventually found a '40 Pontiac 2 dr sedan. It's completely disassembled now---so much for all the stoop labor being done.

A friend gave me this website to look at a paint stripping business in Jackson,Miss. so here I am.

Since retiring 3 years ago I've grown tired of building bird houses and now have something to look forward to each day in researching the marketplace and killing time writing stuff like this.
