Introduction and Q about door panels

Hi, I've lurked here on occasion for the last year or so. My husband and I are building a 1960 Pontiac Catalina custom car. He has done almost all of the work so far: brakes, wiring, body customizing and straightening, sanding, priming and painting. Some things I don't even know how to name. It looks wonderful and is about ready to start driving. We ordered a headliner and installed it a few months ago. We ordered door panels in May of last year. They were supposed to be done in "about six months". They keep putting us off and I'm afraid we're going to have to find a new place that can do them.
Can anyone here recommend a place that is reliable? I still hope they'll come through, but I'm just beginning to look for alternatives.

Unfortunately, there isn't much of a market for early 60's Pontiac interior stuff, but these people should be able to help: Largest Selection of Cloth, Vinyl & Leather Automobile Upholstery - SMS Auto Fabrics. They can make door panels for you that will be as close to original as possible. Your best bet is to call them, their web site is tough to navigate, and they are very helpful on the phone.

I just want you to know that this company that doesn't complete the work has always been agreeable and they keep promising the completion of the project in about two weeks. It just never really happens. It's time for some action, I think.

I sent a certified letter to the company that is supposed to do our door panels. I gave them until the end of the month to complete the work. I said that otherwise we want a full refund and our metal pieces returned to us. We'll see what happens. We were in Norwalk, Ohio over the weekend at the Pontiac race and saw lots of examples of beautifully done door panels on cars in the car show. We might end up doing them ourselves. They would be different from the originals, but it's a custom anyway. I'll let you know...
