I'm sure you've noticed a rise in new members introducing themselves in the Lounge. It looks like the changes to the board discussed here are having a positive effect. Specifically, we tightened up the registration process so that users are "forced" to read the guidelines before they register. The new 38 page help section is doing the trick too. Finally, upon registration, new members receive a PM from me. The PM encourages them to introduce themselves in the Lounge.

Anyway, just wanted to say nice job everyone following through with welcoming new members. The guidelines are a bit harsh, and filled with "don'ts", so it's normal for people to feel a bit intimidated when they finally complete the registration process. A quick introduction, followed by a warm welcome, is an excellent start at Hotrodders.
