Irs Coil Overs

I have a 1934 Ford fodor with a four bar front suspension and a IRS corvette rear suspension. Can I install coil overs on these suspensions? If so, would it be a ride advantage? If so, what coil overs do you recommend?

I CLEARLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE USES AND ADVANTAGES OF COIL OVERS. I NEED A LITTLE DIRECTION HERE.

The advantage of a coil over is easy, wide selection of spring lengths / rates, clean install with minimal packaging. And yes, you can set up both front and rear suspension with a coil over.

Coil overs

Thanks for the info. Would you reccomend going in that direction and if so is there anything I sholuld look for or watchout for? This is going to be a driven hot rod and I want the best 'ride' I can get with it. Do you recommend air-ride?

I personally am a proponent for AirRide because I have driven daily drivers on air for the last 12 years however... its not for everybody. We also have a high end coilover and I have fitted several cars with coil overs and if it is done correctly, the car will handle great and ride excellent.

First off, what version of the Corvette suspension do you have? The C4 is very often fitted with coil overs fairly easy. The C3 can be converted. Van Steel has a set of trailing arms that are fitted for coil overs.

More IRS info at.
