I've got a 350 with a HE260 cam (firstname.lastname@example.org"), stock convertor, 3.73 rear, performer intake, 600 VS Holley, Tri-Y headers, 200R4 trans.. It pulls 15" vacuum at 650 rpm idle. Runs great from idle to about 5200rpm with good throttle response(3.73 might have something to do with that).
I didn't figure the CR back in the 1980's when it was built, but it was supposed to be around 8.8:1. The heads came from RHS back then and were stock rebuilt cast iron w/76cc chambers with pocket porting/bowl blending(?port cc).
Your cam is just a little bigger, and with 108 lsa vrs the 110 lsa mine has, I'm thinking you may have just a little less low end/idle vacuum.
I'd say it was a good choice except for the rear gear being just a bit too high.JMO
