Sounds like the right bracket. Why are you turning the distributer if it's got a miss what made you go there? Go ahead and spray some PB-Blaster at the base of the distributer and it should free up have you had the distributer out lately?.What kind of miss are you talking about at low idle or higher rpm's?.You might want to check the plugs and the plug wires.........Cole

more info on nova

it runs great at high idle but when its low or at a stop idleing it starts luging down and dies and while its dieing it goes pop pop pop. and when it starts and you press on the gas or when you leve a stop signe it lugs with a total loss of power untill it gets to a higher rpm then it runs great. i put a new carb a rodchester duel jet, new plugs, wires, rotor, cap, air filter. then we thought it was the cat so we chopped it off and put a straight pipe on it for now and no better

Ok First i would stop throwing parts at it and think of when this first started, did it run fine at any time when you owned it? If so did you change something and then it started this problem.

When did this problem start?

There are plenty of people on here to help but I have found when you start changing so many parts it makes it hard to figure out what the cause was.

With some more clues im sure we can help you with this issue

ok it was running good when i got it the only thing i had to do was replace a foot long section of fuel line because it was somehow twisted and the houseing for the fuel filter was cross threaded. so we jb welded the houseing and put an inline fuel filter in it untell a later date when i could switch out the carb also because of the bushings and the accelerator pump were screwd. it ran really good after that but then it started leaking gas out the bushings.so i put the same exact style and brand of carb on it and thats when it started having issues. first it didnt want to stay started and running so my friend opend the choke by winding it? so then we got it started and playd with the adjustments on the carb so i could get it home( i had it two month prior to haveing to replace the carb ). it was running ritch after that and we adjusted the carb and got it running a little better, and then it started ideling rough then black exhoust out the tail and it would chug and would have light backfires and then it would die if it just idled unless i was at a stop and giveing it gas untell the light turned green to go and i would press on the gas and i would have a total cut in power and lugging untill i got to a higher rate of speed and then it would run and sound good. since then we checked to see if the cat was blocked up and replaced the dist cap rotor wires plugs air filter. and thats it
