As I said in my 'Hello Everyone' post,I have my Mustang on eBay.I have a little note in the auction that I might be intrested in a trade.I had 2 offers over night..A 1965 Chevy II with the original 289/2-Speed Powerglide. He said that it belonged to his 96 year old grandmother and it was literally one of those 'grocery-getters'.I forgot how many miles he said that were on it,but oh well.He said that it needed a complete restoration. The other offer was for a 1992 Dodge Dakota 4X4.I told him that I'd think about it if I had some pics and more info. Then,I kind of got into the mood of having a 4X4.

My grandad is currently restoring a 1978 Ford F-150 4X4.It's in great shape, and I'm actually kind of fond of it.Anyway,he's not going to sell it,but I checked Trader Online and found one to my liking. There's this guy in Florida that has a 1978 Bronco 4X4 with the 351/C6 combo. He says that he has documentation of everything that's been done to it,including at 100-mile old overhaul,12 inch suspension lift  ,40X17 inch tires,(needs new ones he said),only 3 surface rust spots, original chrome, excellent interior, etc.Anyway, about as perfect as you can get I guess without having it completely restored.Anyway,he's asking $4,000.I didn't think that was bad, seeing that the suspension lift is $2,000.Don't worry,I checked :D .Anyway,he said that he might be intrested in a trade for my Mustang. He's suppose to call me back tomorrow evening and we're going to talk some more. He's also suppose to send some pics. You guys think that it would be a good deal? The only thing is,I think that it's going to be hard to talk him into delivering it up here .

Oh well, there's plenty of options for that.He said that it was capable of housing 52 inch tires.I think that's just a waste of money myself unless it's going to be off-road 99.9% of the time.Anyway,I think that the tires that are on it now are going to cost ~$200 a piece :( .But anyway,I'll know something for sure tomorrow,I hope. It's a Bronco,so the rear top will come off.I kind of like that :D .I'll post the link ASAP.I'll go and fetch it when I get done here.

You guys let me know what you think!

Best thing about that is the 351M shares the same bellhousing bolt pattern on the C6 as the 429/460. :D Big block big Bronco, baaabeeee. (That is, if you ever chose to do an engine swap.)

How do I know that you ask? I have a '78 Bronco Ranger XLT and within a week or two its gonna be powered by a rumbling high compression 429 sporting some chrome and billet. :D

Here's the link for my Superford registry where all my pics of the 78, and the 429 build are. CLICK

Oh and check out Project Bronco. A site dedicated to the '78-79 Broncos.

Oh, one more thing...since it is a '78, they came from the factory with no cats and a higher weight rating. Anyhow, read up on Project Bronco. :)

The night that dad and I picked it up,we were coming through this straight-a-way doing 45 and he punched it..it wasn't very long at all before the speedometer was toppin' 90.The 5.0's are pretty fast,I just can't get into this car.I don't know why.I guess I just want a 4X4 .It's got headers, flowmasters, high flow cats,sub-connectors,etc.It's fast enough I think lol,(that's a joke :D ).

Thanks for the comment.I guess that's why it feels funny having one lol.Don't mind that.Anyway,if this deal pulls through, this Bronco will be mine .

Oh yeah, isn't your Bronco's name 'Brutus'?I think that's what it said on that page..Anyway,there's one on Trader Online with the same name.I think that it's an F-150 though.Anyway, all Ford's are cool .

Weren't the windows in old station wagons manual crank? Hmm. You should check into that, if you're one of those types that can make anything, I'm sure you could rig up a manual crank for the rear window. I *really* don't think you'd wanna do that though, you'd have to crawl over the back seat everytime you wanted to put the window down...and the window HAS to be down to lower the tailgate.

Yeah, my 78s name is Brutus. Good luck getting it, and if you do be sure to sign up on ProjectBronco.com. :D
