I've decided to pull my engine.

I have posted before that I have a noise in my engine that I can't explain, I also have low oil pressure. I have decided to pull the engine, measure everything, change the main and rod bearings, hone and re-ring. I rebuilt the engine two years ago, but have some very hard miles on it. The bad thing is that the block is .060 over and the crank has been turned. I hope I don't find something bad. While I'm at it I'm going to port match and polish my trick flow 195s. Wish me luck.

Good luck!

I think your block will be OK, but that crank might be scrap now... better than having to junk the block though!

If your block was is .060 over and it was soinc tested you should be fine.

That being said we don't find many GM blocks that I would bore .060 over and be safe for a performance application.

Hell we have some blocks in the shop that I wouldn't use at .030 over because of a one thin cylinder but the other 7 cylinders are fine.

Everything looks pretty good, I think my excessive blow by was caused by rings that never seated. Cylinders still have the cross hatch and they aren't scared or anything. I did notice that the tops of my pistons are really black and covered with a sooty deposit. Would that be caused by unburned fuel or oil? I also noticed that my valve stems on in my exhaust ports were black except for two of them. The two that weren't black were white.
