If you plan on doing a lot of painting with it, then get both tip sizes, it may be a good idea. The 1.4 will probably work for your base, clear and epoxy primer. A thicker filler primer, you may want the larger tip. My conventional gun works for clear and the epoxys I spray, but for thicker urethane primer I have to use my old devibiss jga which has very large holes in the aircap and I think a larger tip size to do a better job spraying them.

I finally got around to spraying some PPG K36 with my HF HVLP gun with the 2.2mm tip. I thought it may be too big, but it worked out fine. I did notice that the air adjustment seemed to be more sensitive than with the 1.4mm. Too much air pressure and the finish appears rough. Crank the air down a little and the material goes on real nice and even, very easy to control.

bondokings gun said w400 on the body, and was marked 1.4 on the aircap. I don't see either on the picture of the gun and the one in the link comes with a 1.5 needle again. Has anyone actually got a chance to give the gun a good test yet. I see people recommending the ebay gun in another thread about devilbiss, and are we sure the gun is any good? I know the gun that bondo has he gave a review about, but haven't seen anyone post results on the w400 ebay gun. I should get mine from tuulshed hopefully this week. I visited ebay today and they had it marked payment received. It would be sad if in fact because of this site the starting price on the gun was going up if it isn't any good. I know the copy of the lh50 touch up gun from tuul shed got a good review from badbob and others, but haven't seen any comments on this particular gun.

Yeah you spray a taning solution gunk on your car if you don't want to leave your car out in the sun to get that hawaiian tropics model look.

Well, my ebay gun from tuul shed came in the mail today. It does say 1.5 on the cap. The body looks plated and not colored. In all the pictures I've seen it looked like the body was brown, but guess thats the way it photographs. Now if I can just line up something to paint I can give it a test.

Kenseth17,

Please let me know how it went, I paid for mine on Ebay today. As a side note, I was bidding and wanted to put $34.50 on it, and accidentally put $3450.00 on it!

I knew at that point it was mine

Craig

Will do if I get to use it before someone else. Should of told me that earlier, I would have put a bid in for 3449.00. I think I would have took the bad feedback for non paying bidder if got too high.

That is one of the only reasons you are allowed to withdraw a bid.

Does anyone know where I could purchase the 1.4mm Gun that BondoKing and some of the other guys have tried out? I am a current WyoTech Student and have been playing with a lot of guns lately in class. I would love to buy this though because I cannot afford a IWATA or SATA right now and just want to keep practicing.

Please if anyone knows how I can get this gun please let me know because I dont have the money for a brand name gun right now.

I purchased this one from EBAY:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ZHIPP-HVLP-PAINT...QQcmdZViewItem

I shot paint on some Harley tins. This was my very first time to paint anything. I dialed in the gun using the cigar pattern test I've seen on here and started spraying. I have to say it was almost as slick as glass. I will wet sand it to prep the surface for the True Fire paint job. I used HOK black base and I'm very relieved that it came out the way it did. Cleaning was easy. For someone like myself that wants to learn, this is a great gun for the cost. Not sure how it will stand up over time but I will take care of it and use it as long as possible.

iwanta32fordtruck, did your gun come with a 1.5 or a 1.4 tip?
