Well gas engines and electric motors are rated different.
Gas engines are rated for Max HP and electric motors are rated for continous HP. The Chevelle pulls 2000 amps at 96 Volts when it launches, and 1 HP is 746 Watts. 2000 amps times 96 volts equals 192,000 watts, divided by 746 equals 257 Hp. It will do the one wheel burn pretty good at 72 volts. I plan on doubling the 96 Volts to 192 volts to get around 500 HP. There is currently an Electric dragster and motorcycle both doing 160mph in the 1/4 mile in the high 7's. I have not been at it that long, just a year or so. My first time through the lights was a year ago. My best time with the Electric Chevelle is 13 seconds at 50mph in the 1/8 mile. Lots to learn, especially with the rear gears, that really confuses me. Jack. |
