Post Jacking a Car up High

When I was in high school I saw a guy that had lifted the body of a 55 chevy so high that the bottom of door was almost even with the top of the tires. The car was level. This was one of the coolest cars I had ever seen and drew a crowd where ever he went. Does anyone know how to do this?

Some good info is if you watch TNN and see the trucks.. they often lift various vehicals on there... Easiest way is to do it with a kit, new springs, shocks, align it all etc
