jeep rear end
I'am doing some body work on a 2005 jeep with a 4.7 motor. Had to remove the rear tires to remove the rear bumper easier. I happen to notice the rear looked real interesting. It measures out 61" back plate to back plate, maybe 62-63" wheel to wheel. Has rear disc brakes, sway bars, track locater, lower link bar. If you got a complete take out would be a snap to install. Looks like a cool set up for a classic truck or street rod. Looks almost like maybe a dana rear and looks real beefy.

Those are another deal that looks good but too wide for a lot of rods..But it is a good design..

Dana 44 IIRC., but yea, there a bit wide for most older vehicles.

How hard would they be to shorten and do you think a guy could get shafts for it?

I've got a buddy that does it if I needed it done. The one thing about a wider rear is if you put it in a classic truck or fat fendered rod you could put big meats on it and not have to tubb them. Would be easier to widen the fenders than do a tubb job.
