Jet 4l80e Tranny Chip Concern

HI FOLKS
A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN I RAN AROUND THE COUNTRY-WITH MY RIG THAT SPORTS A 4L80E JET TRANSMISSION-I HAD NO PROBLEMS GOING OVER MOUNTAIN PASSES AT 65MPH AND THE TRUCK TOWING A TRAILER SEEMED LIKE IT WAS NOT EVEN WORKING HARD AT THOSE SPEEDS GOING UP HILLS.....WE RAN IT 5K HARD MILES LIKE THAT AND IT DID'T EVEN BREAK A SWEAT;;;NOT THE TRANNY OR THE 383 STROKER FUEL INJECTED STEALTH RAM.....PUSHING ABOUT 300 PONIES AT THE REAR WHEELS....

THEN WE STOPPED INTO A SHOP- A VERY GREAT HI TEC WORLD FAMOUS SHOP-I WILL NOT MENTION THE NAME--AND HAD THE TRUCK DYNOED ON A MUSTAD DYNO AND SURE ENOUGH IS WAS PUSHING 295 HP AT THE REAR WHEELS AN ABOUT 450 AT THE ENGINE.....

THEN THE HEAD GUY THEIR DID SOMETHING I REGRET STILL TODAY---HE CHANGED THE CHIP IN THE JET 4L80E HE SAID TO GET MORE POWER AND THAT WAS THE LAST OF THE GOING OVER THE HILLS AND MOUNTAINS AT 60-70 MPH.....

NOW WE HAVE TO GET INTO THE SLOW LANE-EVEN ON SMALLER PASSES AND IF WE MAKE IT OVER THE TOP AT 50MPH WERE DOING GOOD BUT THE ENGINE IS WORKING HARD--TOO HARD....THIS IS NOT MY IMAGINATION IT IS WHAT HAPPENED ...SO CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT HE DID AND HOW TO GO BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS WHEN I EVEN GOT BETTER GAS MILEAGE.....THE ENTIRE RIG ONLY HAS 30K MILES ON IT SO ITS NOT OLD AND TIRED....

AGAIN AM I NUTS OR DID HE MESS SOMETHING UP WHEN HE CHANGED THE CHIP IN THE 4L80E JET TRANNY.....PLEASE ANY THOUGHS ON THIS AND HOW TO GO BACK WOULD BE WELCOME VERY MUCH INDEED....
