Job search help

The wife and I are talking about moving to Tenn so I thought I'd give it a shot here. Anyone in or near the area stretching from Cookeville to Knoxville that knows of any good possibilities for employment for an electrician (residential, or commercial) and a systems analyst (currently in the insurance industry)? Not looking for entry level positions, preferably, as both have been in the profession for many years. I know this is a stretch, but am checking any advantage I might be able to use. Thanks

aww we've been here in Michigan for over 45 years and are ready to go to warmer parts....plus the work outlook here in Michigan is horrendous at best. I lived in Tenn back in the 60's for a few years and love it there. Just have to get our ducks in a row before packing up...

Well ztoy I hate to say it but, Tenn must be closed. I'm surprised you've gotten NO posts yet.

Someone should help you if they see this.

BTW, I lived in Kalamazoo until 1962. I loved it there!

We are trying to arrange a trip back there this year in the fall.

Well, good luck !

lol, from Kazoo, eh? If you've been gone since '62, you will be amazed at the changes. Upjohns is gone and is a shell of the once proud company, and is now owned by Pfizer. The GM assy plant is closed and gone. There are malls out on Westnedge south of Milham plus a lot more. I'm sure you'll have a great time and will be very surprised.

thanks for the chat!

I guess we'll have to get a map. Everyone I knew from there has moved away or passed on.

When I was in high school there was a guy that would drive by each day. He had a very cool Edsel. (Is that possible?) The car was lowered in front and painted deep red. The car was called "Wicked Ruby".

Memories, memories!!!

http://nashville.craigslist.org/

Here is first place to go for free, look and you can also post.

Insurance big agencies and companies themselves are in Nashville, Atlanta, Tampa and Jacksonville. (kid works for one as computer something.)

You should have no problem finding a job in your field but pay will vary big time from say Knoxville to Atlanta so get a job and then pick out city to live.

re:Job search help

ztoy, I don't know about the systems analyst, but as for the electrician(I'm assuming you) have you given any thought to the IBEW?

I'm about to graduate the IUOE apprenticeship, eventhough unions aren't real strong down south here we still get decent pay and benefits...
