Best ??

Well, lots of different opinions on that. I prefer the 9 inch Ford. Easy to find, easy to work on and inexpensive in most parts of the country. A 71 to 73 Mustang has the same general width rear as your car and the Mustang rear works well. It has a the very common 5 on 4.5 inch wheel pattern ( common to Ford and Mopar ) ....

With the drop out center sections of the 9 inch Ford...rear gear ratios changes are easy and there are many choices. I like a 3.70 with a OD.

Deuce......

i have a 350hp/350, 700r4 and 3.08 in my vette but in reality i wish i had something in the 3.30- 3.50 range. go to WWW.700r4.com and use their RPM calculator and play around with different ratios....the ideal ratio would have no MPH in 4th that creates a bogging situation with your engine (such as 40mph/800 rpm)
