12-22-2011 12:07 PM V/W Outboard
I have a Bug w/ 40 Ford Hood and Fat Fenders.
I also have a 150 Merc V-6, Power Head that has been
worked up to 380 Hp @ 10,000 Rpm. (14k Red line)
The head only weighs about 150lbs Complete.
I want to slide it into the Bug.
The Merc has Fuel/Invection, and, being a Two Cycle,
it can mount in any Position (Vert or Hoz).
I Can't deside on Transaxle, or Mail Jeep Rear End (Narrow) with 700R.
Front or, Rear eng mount, Vertical out the back, Horzontal
in Back or center or front, or ?.
With the 40 Grile, I can run Liquid.
Like any two cycle (Dirt Bike), there is no low end, but
get a grip in the power band (5-7k-rpm)
I don't think I can tear-up anything "Off-the-Line".
Like a regular Bug, no Spectacular "Burns"
Anyway, I know just enough to get into some deep trouble.
I don't know if they will even allow me on the Track.
I just would like some input from existing victims or ?
The combination of Some horsepower, Very little Weight,
and a bunch of RPM, gets me "going".
