05-14-2014 08:20 PM Wiring and painting
Every time I do one or the other, I swear
I'll never do it again.
I wired a relay to the acc. fuse block
one to the tail lights
one to the dimmer switch lead.
I'm going to redo the horn relay also.
Under this dash is a nightmare, but I'm
going to get this thing running and enjoy it a while
before I go for a wiring harness.
I've got two gauges and the break light switch to
go and the inside is done, can put the steering
wheel back on. I've got three or four nots on my
forehead from whacking that steering colum.
You think a guy would learn.

05-13-2014 10:19 PM exhausted my options
Finally finished off the exhaust, bolted up tight
with stage 8 fasteners.
Shifter and linkage and neutral switch.
The trany inspection panel never had a bolt in it.
Couldn't find anything to fit, put off a trip to the
hardware store and took a nap. Woke up and knew
exactly what I wanted. Years ago I tore apart some
air handling units on a school job, saved a coffee can of
self tapping skews and bolts.Only got a hand full left but
they did the job.
Started nibbling at the wiring, just couldn't part with that
ground wire- it's as old as me.
Now I'm wishing I would have tested that starter, don't
know why I didn't.
Put the new gauges in tomorrow, run some relays,
tidy up under dash a bit.

05-12-2014 06:14 PM early start
even with that it's slow going.
Had to buy 1ea 7/16 X 14 x 5 1/2 alternator bolt
got that mounted. Battery and pos cable in.
wrapped pass side header, since the starter relay is down there again.
even wrapped the fuel line next to the exhaust.
tranny temp gauge wire up thru fire wall
and neutral switch wires out same hole.
They were glued beneath the carpet and stuck out the
trany inspection plate.

05-10-2014 04:36 PM vacuum sucks
it did this morning
spent an hour driving around, 5 parts houses & one hardware store,
finding brass fittings to build a manifold tee.
When I got done it looked like a xmas tree.
So I made my own, this one will fit under the air cleaner.

So I get all signed up at the chebby truck forum
Ask about supplying power to fuse panel,
but the question isn't appropriate.
Don't ya just love the world wide web?
