The end closest to the trans. mounting flange needed to be flared so he could keep it tight. This enclosure is supposed to help in the case of a fire. That is why being tight is so important.

The tool used to help form the radius sides is nothing more than 3 pieces of pipe welded together, about .100" apart. The sheet is slid into one gap between two pipes and rolled over the right diameter pipe. Easy and simple. (Note that Gene is using a 1-1/2" pipe as the intended radius)

The top of the case shows the rectangular section that needs to be bumped out. Tight is the key word.
