We cut the identical pieces slowly scared to death of us screwing up and wasting four days of machining but it worked out quite well, the saw was barely moving and they seemed to turn out alright.

The stacks both had to be made of the same piece of aluminum, mainly because it was all I could find, so either end was machined the same. When finished it was covered with tape to prevent damage as we put it into the saw to cut it.

Wanted a set of Velocity Stacks like the ones from Vintage Speed to fit on my blower carbs. Looked all over but I couldn't find ant to fit my 3" carb throats they were all for the 2 5/8's. Asked my buddy Hienz from our car club if he thought he could do it and he said to get some aluminum and away he would go. Started with a tube 5/8's thick by 4 12" dia. and 16 inches long and the rest was history.

Got my regulator mounted and hooked up my fuel lines, not sure if I will go for the old school look and use clear red tubing or if I can find some canvas covered black lines. Engine runs fine now two quick pumps and turn the key and away she goes.

01-06-2008 06:01 PM Carbs Working
Finally got the adapter plate made for my blower, screwed around with a couple of different designs and nothing worked the way I wanted. Started with a triple plate with one of the carbs offset and this didn't run like crap so I got a heavier piece of aluminum 1/2" and machined the fuel supply nut down a bit and got both carbs to fit over the blower opening. It is hard to believe these 2 jets are so much bigger than the 2 barrels most run on a tri carb set up caused me quite a bit more grief.
