Started taking out the wood in the truck body split right apart, Looks like back in the sixties someone had an idea and used two door skins to fill in the roof. Going to rework them like they were looks kinda neat but I think I'll use something different then chicken wire in the interior.
Finally picked up my next quest, a 1931 Chevy Pickup, Sometimes I think I'm a sucker for punishment but I guess that's what hot rods are about. Building a 350 30 over with a 4-71 supercharger and want to run a T5. Like to pull my other car and numerous other projects in the future. Got over 10,000 k's on my rat rod and I need a bit of comfort sometimes.
Just got our new club plaques this week and they came in rough aluminum as usual. Showing three pictures the first the rough cast and the second picture is painted and just sanded with 400 grit, and the final is polished . There still has to be about another half hour of polishing with a final compound before it's done, but not too bad for a start.
Just got news that our new car club plaques are in and i'll be able to get mine on Wednesday at our new watering hole. So i figured what a good reason to go for a cruise in the middle of January in Alberta. Supposed to be about 55 degrees for our friends south of our border, we get these wild weather changes called Chinooks. By the way our club meets on Wednesdays at the Burger In on Bow Trail and 37 street S.W. and you be able to see a nice assortment of hot Rod's and customs there in the upcoming summer, some of us die hards even drive there in the winter.
Just went out for a drive on Sunday and got quite a few looks, believe it or not the car really has a heater and it is very warm inside. Still have to finish the top off and insulate it, sort of driving around inside a oil drum right now, you wouldn't believe how loud it is.
