Many hours of sanding and grinding and the fibreglass is keyed, up to the bulkhead anyway, ready for joint over lapping, thickening and smoothing where necessary.
To smooth out and improve the appearance of the rear area behind the number plate housing I boxed over the area by bonding in heavy weight card. This will be fibre glassed over then smoothed ready for painting. A removable access panel will then be carefully cut out of the underside to give access to the boot catch.

Although alittle dusty pic 1 shows the shock absorbers after polishing and paint, lacquer to follow when snail mail arrives with more materials!
Due to the delay of the paint [kindly sent over by Worstevie BUT not delivered by Postman Pat] I had to change this weekends plans. If the paint materials, posted 8 days ago had arrived 4 days ago as anticipated I would have been re-assembling the chassis.
So after some shifting around in the garage and a quick fabricate of a rotisserie system the shell is now in a position to receive some much needed under body treatment.

I decided to paint and polish the aluminium mounting bracket for the power steering pump [see pic 1]
The same was decided for the rear brake calipers which came off a BMW Mini Cooper
