After removing the timber frame the arches look much more like the original stock items.
An extra finishing touch was added to the underside and number plate recess.

The mold used for my body originated from an old Gasser race car, so the arches are cut to accept the large slicks.
As I do not want this design new arches of the original design will have to be fabricated using a timber frame and then fiberglassed. You US readers are SO LUCKY to be able to pick up a great body off the shelf.

A Mini bonnet catch has been fitted to take on the latching/locking duties. This will be activated using a solenoid from a keyfob and interior switch.

After attaching the boot lid to the frame using timber spacers, the frame to lid is fiberglassed together. This has given a very rigid boot lid and a good fit. All the smoothing will be done at a later stage.

A steel box section frame was fabricated to attach the boot skin to. This [next task] will be screwed into position on the frame and adjusted to line up with the bodies contour. When all is well fiberglass will be laid around the frame and skin making a rigid boot lid.
Using the W from the Willys logo I fabricated hinges from 8mm square bar. The welds will be blended at a later date.
