The chassis ready for all the important bits!
and in place below the suspended shell.
As the body did not come with sills, wooden bucks were shaped out of 4`x2` timber. These were then attached to the body, ready for final finishing/smoothing. A mould will then be taken off, new panels made from the moulds, then fitted and glassed to the shell.
As I am working in a 20`x 18` garage with a high roof an idea to lift the shell up to allow the chassis to be worked on was a god send.
After levelling of the shell, plumb lines were dropped from the important points to give locations on the chassis.
The rear arches on THIS body had been opened up Gasser style but as I am building the car along modern styling trends, I will be reverting back to stock specs [yet another task to add to the list of fibreglassing]
