Just a few more teardown pics. Same car, less parts attached. My neighbor Brett helped build the dolly for me. It's awesome!

In other news is I picked up a second parts car today. It has a clean subframe, and a few other parts. I'll be pirating those and then selling off the rest.

OK, I bought this car thinking it was an unrestored original verdoro green 400 car. I knew the engine was wrong ,and I knew it didn't have the correct front bumper for a 400. Had I known it wasn't a 400 car, I probably would have passed because of the amount of rust it had.

Well, I have it, and I'm not one to abandon a car. So, here I am, now finding myself ordering some replacement sheet metal and will be having the car dipped to remove the rust.

I've ordered sheet metal and am in the process of tearing the car down. My neighbor, Brett, has been invaluable in helping me with this. He has built for me a car dolly, and helped me load the car up. As I'm tearing it down, I'm discovering even more rust. It's like I'm on the east coast all over again!

I'm up for a project

02-16-2010 11:58 PM New Project- 1967 Firebird part 1
I bought this car one year ago, but have only recently started ot tear it down for the proper rebuild it needs.

The car is a '67 Firebird 326 H/O but was disguised as a 400 model even down to the correct year 400 engine (aren't they all...) Even I was fooled by the dual factory traction bars and what appeared to be the 400 emblem holes under the incorrect spoiler that came on the car. Wish I knew more about body tag decoding when I bought it.

It is, however, (for those who care) a 326 H/O car, original verdoro green, dlx interior, rally gauges, fold down rear seat, rear mount antenna, etc...

When I'm done with this car, it'll be ls powered with a 6 speed, updated suspension, brakes, etc. My goal is to build a high performance driver with occasional open track time.

I didn't start this project until recently as I needed the space and funding form selling my Belvedere. I was driving the car around locally..... Until now

I sold this car in December. It went to Lake Jackson, Texas. Maybe you'll see it cruising around there.

Now I have $$ and space to start my next project, a '67 Firebird. I'll be working on adding pics as I create that project/ project journal.

I have yellow plates now. They look at home on this car. They are 1957 correct with the appropriate lettering. I also carpeted the trunk...
