Here is the steering system I used on my 53.

The power steering gear in the picture with the 53 unit is from a late 80s Toyota land cruiser. Very similar in shape and size. I had to heat and bend the pitman arm straight, cut off the ball drill and taper the bore of the small end to accept the Chevy pitman arm ball joint.

The next two photos show the mount for the gear. Fits great with a simple mount made of 4 x 4 x angle iron and a few pieces of 1/4 plate.

Borgeson dampner/universal joint directly couples the GM column to the gear.
