02-01-2012 10:19 AM Broken gas tank
This is a pretty new gas tank, both tabs on the pass side broke right off. I heard something rubbing on the way back from lunch today. I looked under and saw this! ... it was the filler neck rubbing on the trunk. Guess I should have had the tank sitting on something instead of only supported by the tabs... lesson learned. I didn't think these would break. Could have been a dangerous, lucky I found it. Time to take the tank out :-(

Here is the dash installed, still bare metal. I've been running it like this for a few weeks...

01-12-2012 03:17 PM old dash
Here is the old dash, I had frenched in some gauges a while back. I cut out the center section so I could weld the new dash on top of it and still have the same mounting locations.
This shows tacking it on, fitting it in the car and most of the welding done. I trimmed the old dash from the back when it was mostly welded. Still need to finish the sides.

replaced the dash in my studebaker with a chevy dash of the same year... has a little more style to it. I had to shorten it less than 2"
