Here it is tacked together, I'm not going to finish welding it until I have it trimmed. I'll have to do an angle cut, so it is flush with the body, as you can see from the 2nd picture.

Today I started making my exhaust tips. I wanted to make ovalish tips and run them through the body of the car right in front of the back wheel. I'm running 2.5" exhaust right now. To get the look i wanted I took 2" pipe, cut it in half, and welded a filler piece (the same gauge) between. The filler is 1.75". Then I ran it into a 2.5" connector. This makes the tip about 3.75" wide x 2" tall.

Here's the wheel put together. I also did a photoshop version with the leather wrapped wood, and painted center cap.

Here it is painted black. the chrome center isn't perfect, but it will do just fine.

A while back I made my steering wheel, but never finished it. I've been using it, but the wood screws in the wheel kept coming loose, and it's been in bare metal for way too long. Here I show where I've added metal inserts with bolts into the holes. I also put epoxy in with the inserts for added strength. I also finished welding the center, and now it's in primer. the center of the center cap is chrome, which is why it's taped off.
