The diff is an 8 ½" Borg Warner Limited slip. This has disk brakes all calipers and brake cylinders are aluminum. Photo one shows the repair kit purchase and cylinder after chrome plating. Photo two back of cylinder with piston. Photo 3 view of cylinder before assembly after cleaning.

What a pain not having my workshop anymore No lathe, mill, punch & wire wheels for cleaning, nothing left to do but replace as much as possible. Cleaned and painted the half shafts.

06-03-2010 01:39 AM Diff re-build
Well finally the bucket turned up nearly two months to get it past customs. Now starts the big job of finishing it. I have picked a color Sherwood Metallic green started with the diff just to see what it looks like.
Applied gasket seal and bolted the half shafts tubes to the diff head.

What a hassle, been in our new country for a month and still no T-Bucket. Customs has put a stop on the delivery they want more money than what I actually paid for the items. So I guess you only have to be honest when it suits them. The shipping company has revalued everything at new prices. Chassis $2000.00 it only cost me $250 in materials and so on, duty went from a few hundred to quite a few thousand. Glad I'm not paying the bill.
It pays to get a written quote. I'm hoping to see it turn up next week. Then I can start again with the cert in Australia and hopefully finish it so I can drive it.
