First photo shows old steering arm with the new steering arm on top. The new arm is 6" higher at the fire wall than the old giving me plenty of room for the brake peddle.
Second shows the cross brace added to support the bottom bracket.
Third is the top support bracket.

Front Engine mount for a 350 Chevy Decided to put this design up as I drew it and worked out all the measurements I guess I can share it. This is for those how want to have the alternator low down close to the chassis. There is only one cut out on the left hand side as the other has the alternator mount on it. Manufactured from 8mm or 3/8 plate steel. I have this in AutoCAD if anyone would like it. Sorry its in Metric

Didn't like the idea of having a solid tube coming from the chassis to the steering wheel so after checking with the certifier I have changed it to a system with universals at least if someone hits me the steering will collapse. Cut the VW steering box off at the bottom, acquired a Nissan Pulsar GTIR steering column which has two universals on it. Sent both to an engineering company to have a spline machined on the steering box end.

Inserted the tube into the chassis and welded it into place. I'm using a 16mm high tensile bolt to support the brake peddle.

Machined a tube to weld into the chassis this has a 16mm thread to screw the peddle boss to. Machined and pressed bearing into the peddle boss. Waiting for the peddle to be laser cut.
