Time to put the body onto the chassis.
Photo No.1 I cut a sheet of wood to the correct size so it slotted over the gearbox.
Photo No.2 shows the back of the firewall
Photo No.3 Checked that the distributor was going to be far enough from the firewall.

11-04-2005 09:32 PM Sitting on wheels
Decide to see how high the frame was off the ground as in NZ the minimum height from the ground is 4". With the 15" wheels it sits 5" to the bottom of the engine cross member.
As I will be using 14" mags the distance will be around 4

10-28-2005 11:55 PM Engine Starting
A major mile-stone passed today I finally got the motor running. I set up a temporary carburetor and radiator. After stripping it down cleaning all the jets unblocking the fuel inlet valve I finally got fuel to pump into the old manifold. Set the timing 2 degree's before top dead center, connected the single wire from the distributor to the positive on the battery cranked it over and wow it started up first time. It was a bit lumpy so I checked the plugs, 2 out of the 8 new champion spark plugs had failed, this was not a surprise as I have found champion plugs to be of a very low quality in NZ. Replace all the plugs to NGK. Tried again this time it ran like a dream. As it had no exhaust it was a bit load ran it for 20 minutes.

10-23-2005 11:58 PM Stub Axles
Manufactured the top boss from stock 1 ½ mild steel bar bored the hole to ¾". Made a dummy boss the same size as the drop axle with a ¼" spacer so I can fit bushes later.
Made up two test king pins for setup only and welded the top boss to the stub axle body.
Had to make up a long drill so I could drill the hole in the bottom boss. This is all setup only I will manufacture the king pins later with an off set so I can have some camber adjustment.
