That sure took a long time. But it's all disassembled now. Just pull the engine, trade transmissions and roll the 36 onto the chopping block

The rear spring bolts were pretty mashed over from the demolition derby, and i had to get the scrap to manageable size pieces, so i spent the afternoon torching the poor van to little pieces.

Looks like the rear end will fit the Rustbucket

Ran up to King one the interstate to a Cruise in, glad to say no problems, temperature below 150 all the way. no shakes no shimmies, first time up to 60. I have decided i do not want to see how fast this thing will actually go.

I barely had the throttle open at highway speeds. I know you real hotrodders think me a slowcoach, but too bad.

Finally got a break in the weather, and got the headlights straight, i hope. Can't test them now, but looks a little better.

And looked at the Chevy hood i got a few months ago. It looks like it will work. To keep the lines the way i want them, i will probably have to make the whole front tilt up. Otherwise the grill shell will be higher than the cowl.

I will try to do this and paint it before the July 4th Rat Rod show.
