Being frozen out of working on your cars, check this out. Some guy in Durham, NC is making a slick car out of woven wood and resin. It's unbelievable the engineering in this one.

This is a process of drawing a line in the air and welding something to it. Got one more body mount point put in, one more to go... And then the rockers..

I think i will try welding 1/4" rod in the door seams and grinding it flat. That will save many pounds of lead, if it works.

Welded on a chunk of the front fender, then ground off all that bondo, welded on a little strap to mock up the old fender line, patched on two chunks of metal, ground it a little and primed with that Rust Buster.

It does not look like i will be able to work for a week, or so, so i have to paint stuff as soon as i get it done. Or half done.

Got warm and dry, so i hacked away at the 61 Chevy.

First picture is the rear body mounts, welded that a little better, ground the welds and sprayed it with Rustoleum Rust Buster, whatever the name is.

The next picture is the rot in the left toeboard area. I welded on the old firewall, moved up about six inches or so.

Resto rod guys who complain about a quarter inch of bondo are not liable to get much sympathy from the kid.

Been over a month since the slab was dry enough to weld on. I need a garage so bad, but with the economy the way it is, not happening
