Got another plug, and hooked up the computer on the V-6 again. Now it starts and idles, but won't throttle up. Good enough for now. I managed to move it under its own power enough to get it out of the way.
I will eventually get it down to the auto electronics guy, and have him fix it, but hopefully it will be in the 36 at that point. Now to dissect the rest of the electrical harness and pull the engine.
And got the 61 home. pretty complete except for engine and transmission. The bed is good, rear bumper good, two nice mirrors, lots of stuff to sell.
Here is a picture of how many wires i had to hook up to fix my mess up.
Or so. this is a GMC V-6 van. All i needed was the rear end, but i may make this into another Ratster roadster. I am supposed to get a real rust bucket 61 C-10, with a title, so i can put the body, or what is left of it on this frame, if it's not too bent up
It won two Demo Derbies at the Fair last week, so it's in pretty good shape considering. If the motor is not fried, the V-6 will go into the 36 and the big Buick in this frame. Or the 61 frame.
Dunno. Gonna just start chopping and welding and see what i get.
Not a plan in my empty head.
Started assembling the TP front end, pretty slow, because i have no idea what i'm doing, and the instructions are sketchy at best.
In other news, I am supposed to have a GMC V-6 mini van delivered for the rear end and perhaps the motor, if Darrell didn't fry it. It was in a demolition derby. Darrell won two demos and and a figure eight race Friday.
I would like to put a smaller motor in this 36, so i could use the hood without pushing the engine back through the firewall.
And i talked Kirk out of a 61 C-10 minus engine and rear end, that has a title, so i can build what i want without having to hassle with inspections. So all my hard work of cleaning the junks out of the yard will be for naught. Alas.
So if all that happens, i could put the Buick 301 in the C-10, and use the 5x5 rear end in that. Then i could buy a 5 x 4 3/4 rear end out of an S-10 or something for this.
Pix, the first two show how far i got on the front end, and that i need some advice on mounting the radius rods.
And the other picture shows that my guess at the ride height was not too far off.
