05-26-2008 05:55 PM Some Cars Have Stance...
This one has happenstance...

So there it is down on the frame. I went looking for hockey pucks, no gots in NC. Have to see what the guys at the auto parts have.

Second picture is the modified floor frame, clearing the shifter, and the third is the first trial fit of the floorboards from the original 90 Nissan.

Cheap be me.

05-26-2008 01:06 PM Getting Down
Trying to get the body down on the frame.

First i welded some reinforcements on the driveshaft clearance loop thing.

Cut out some of the temporary framework i had inside the body, and welded in some more. Then cut away the firewall and set her down.

Hitting the shift linkage, and it's pretty hot inside that box, so later for more welding.

Happy Memorial Day.

From Some Angles.

To this point $679.00, not counting the steel and welding supplies, and little stuff like hoses, clamps and the clutch cylinder.

Some boys came over to take the Frankenwagen off for the tranny transplant, and got them to lift the body on the 47.

Looks good so far, but neither far enough or good enough.

Got the other corner done, i hesitate to use the word "finished" and got a helper to hold the brass while i welded the light-bar holes in the roof.

Now to get about five strong guys to put this lump on the frame.

Once i can open the doors again, maybe i can make this look a little better. But the original sheet metal is so pitted, it will never look good.
