02-20-2010 07:45 AM Ugly To the Bone
The local car dealer is having an ugly car contest, so i fied up the Ratster and drove down there..Either i will have the bragging rights as the ugliest car in town, or i will know that i don't.

Either way is funny.

I want to see the car that beats me.

A few more fishplates and a bunch of grinding to go. Pretty ugly, but i think it is over-built.

When i can turn the frame over, i will have the bottom welded by a professional.

11-15-2009 09:20 PM The Rust Collection
Had to re-tarp the rust collection after a storm this week.. Here are the works in progress, hope to weld on the 61 frame later this week.

#1 The Ratster, running and registered, needs paint.

#2 The Buckmobile, making the frame, hope to get it to being a roller this winter.

#3 The Bobber, 36 Ford, V-6 GMC, Datsun frame, hot rod front end, blazer rear end. a roller, needs steering and plumbing next.

11-08-2009 02:51 PM Tacked On
After much fussing and trimming got it tacked together, I like the stance here, the back of the body will come down a little to level. I can step right into this one.

Now to have somebody who knows something look at it. Then cut off the excess frame and use those parts for fish plating.

The next step is to build a chain hoist, lift off the body, have a wrecker and a real welder come over and weld the bottom of the frame.

Then.....

First made a nerf bar out of the last remaining piece of the 47 Ford Rad Rod project. Then pushed the new clip in place, started trimming to fit. Then clamped it together, pushed it up on the slab all the way, and took a look. Best advice was to get the new clip frame stub level. Comes out to a 136" wheel base.
