Ok. Weld a hoop( a upside down U shape) to the firewall, bash the sheet metal down to it, fiberglass over the whole mess. Build out firewall with sheet metal to fit.
Then make a smaller hoop to the contours of the hood, but larger, and extend the hood out to meet it. Not a good plan, but seeing as i don't actually know what i'm doing...
And traded a piece of a tree for this bumper.. I though it was English, but it has 9/16 bolts on it, so i dunno..
If it looks valuable to you, let me know before something bad happens to it.. It's so small it must be from a Crosley or something..

Trying to get a plan on the hood fitting. Going to take a lot of air-welding to make this work

Cut the supports down and got it to fit. Used PCV grommets for body mounts.
Tried to line up the hood with that matching bulge in the frame. Would have been nice, but the bulge is off center.. Alas.
Four more sheet metal little clips and the rear deck will be done...
I cleaned out the old cheap spray gun, and got it to lay down a little primer inside the rear deck

Well, it's sort of done... I got the geometry wrong, somehow and need to lower it down a few inches.. No biggie... I would fix it but put the welder up...
I do like the spare tire mount though.. And a little sheet metal, a little bondo, and the back will be closer...
The front will be a bigger challenge though... I will have to add eight inches or a foot to the hood and make it blend into the cowl, not to mention hinging...
and i need to make a hood scoop to clear the air cleaner.. It's paper so i can't just let it stick through the hood.. unless i modify one of the Holly Weber ones..
Later..
