Here is the second try to actually bend something useful. By moving the piece along the mandrel i can make a gentle bend..

This shows it in place.

And i cut some of the bracing out from under the front hood to see if it fits better.. It is now sitting on the air cleaner, so i think i can make this work. If i have to i'll Lift the front of the body a little, but i hope i won't have to.

And i welded the first piece together... I'll have to get a helper to get the angle right before i weld it to the old hood..

I sort of thought the ridge was too big, so i ground it down, and painted it, but it didn't seem to make much difference in the bends and distortion.

I'll make another mandrel of these days, but this works.

Hooked up the voltage regulator, and an ammeter. The alternator is put putting out juice, but the ammeter is not indicating current flow... Suspect? Bad ammeter, or bad hook up... I have another ammeter.

And got the choke cable installed, needs refinement.

Hope to start building the rear deck tomorrow, after a little more messing with the bathroom plumbing.

Took the clutch cylinder off and messed with it until it worked. Had to work a miracle to get it back on, but it works now.. And painted it while it was off..

And the Temp and Oil gauges work, engine smokes more than i like, but OK. Drove around the yard a little... Buddd'n Budd'n

Now to start the body work
